A slip ring also known as rotary electrical joint, electric swivel is a method of making an electrical connection through a rotating assembly.   • In September 2019, WEG announced the release of its M (Mining) series of slip ring motors for use in the mining and cement industries. Available in frame sizes IEC 355 to IEC 1000, the new slip ring motors was said to cover a power range from 250 kW to 10 MW at 50 Hz or 60 Hz line frequency. The series was also said to be intended for dusty environments in the iron ore or cement sectors.
  • In December 2019, Moog Inc. announced that it has completed the acquisition of Gesellschaft für Antriebstechnik mbH and GAT Inc. (GAT) for a purchase price of €48.5 million (approximately $53.8 million). GAT is headquartered in Geisenheim, Germany and was reported to have around 200 employees.
