Organic Yeast Market Overview

The global organic yeast market size was valued at USD 370.5 million in 2020 and is expected to reach a value of USD 780.4 million by 2032, growing at a CAGR of 10.2% during the forecast period 2022-2032.

Yeasts are unicellular microorganisms which are used in the production of various food and drinks. Nutritional yeasts which are organically grown and processed are known as organic yeasts. They are environmentally friendly as they are produced without making use of harsh acids, bases like sodium hydroxide, synthetic vitamin, ammonia, anti-forming agents and fertilizer, pesticides, antibiotics, herbicides, or ionizing radiation which are required in conventional yeast production.

Traditional yeast uses ammonia or similar compounds as nitrogen source, whereas, in case of organic yeast, different plant derived ingredients of the fermentation media such as cereals, molasses or leguminous crops are used which provide the yeast with all the nutrients it needs to grow.

They act as high-quality nutritional supplements as they contain vitamins, minerals and proteins and aid in the boosting of immunity.  Consequently, they find heavy usage in food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and the brewing industry.

The global organic yeast market is expected to grow at a flourishing CAGR of around 10-12% over the period of next 5 years.
