Wearable Wireless Thermometer Market By Product Type (In-Ear, Wristband/Watches, Medical Skin Patches, Smart Clothing, Others); By Distribution Channel (Online Stores, Offline Stores); By Region (North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East & Africa) - Global Market Analysis, Trends, Opportunity and Forecast, 2022-2032

Wearable Wireless Thermometer Market Overview

The global wearable wireless thermometer market size was valued at around USD 1.1 billion in 2022 and is projected to grow at a compound annual rate of growth (CAGR) of around 30% from 2022 to 2032.The market size is projected to succeed in USD 15.2 billion by 2032.

Wearable wireless thermometers are digital devices which are typically used for continuous monitoring of body and skin temperatures for fitness and medical applications. They offer very low-power operation for wearable applications and clinical-grade measurement accuracy. As compared to conventional thermometers, these wireless thermometers are integrated and come in small sizes. They are made available with flexible fitness and medical wearable assembly options, are user-friendly and cost-effective.

Wearable thermometers assist in measuring and recording body temperature during fever, alarming in case of temperature rise and providing treatment insights and suggestions for the same. Also, these aid in monitoring basal temperature in women, tracking the body temperature of babies and in continuous remote temperature monitoring in surgical patients. They are connected to a smart phone or a tablet via Bluetooth or other network for the purpose of displaying and sharing data with doctors and family members for further assistance.

The global wearable wireless thermometer market is expected to grow at a substantial CAGR over the next few years.

Wearable Wireless Thermometer Market Drivers

The growth of this market is attributed towards major pertaining factors including the growing prevalence of infectious diseases worldwide, the increasing global demand for advanced temperature monitoring devices, the proliferating number of surgical procedures, the rising concerns and expenditure related to child health across regions, the growing healthcare industry and the increasing demand for patient-centered care etc.

Additionally, the key market players in this market are witnessed to allocate massive finds on research and development activities for the purpose of new product development and existing product improvement. Some notable developments in the recent years have been in the form of the miniaturization of sensors using microelectronics, the advent of sensors based on MEMS, nanoelectromechanical system (NEMS), and CMOS technologies etc. Well-established market players such as STMicroelectronics, NXP Semiconductors, and Broadcom, Fitbit, Apple, and Garmin are consistently emphasizing on offering high-end innovations in wearable products such as wearable devices with maximum functionalities and compact size.

Moreover, the growth in women employment has played a massive role in the adoption of wearable wireless thermometers lately. The task of taking care of a child becomes outrageously difficult for women who are employed and working. Devices which monitor body health of children conveniently and provide remote data are of vital importance for these women. Thus, with the growing rate of women employment across the globe especially in developed countries, the demand and adoption of wearable wireless thermometers among other technologies is set to increase at a considerable rate.

Furthermore, other factors such as the rising adoption of personalized and preventive care methods across different regions, the increasing number of connected devices, the growing IoT industry and the growing population of technology users further contribute to the growth of the wearable wireless thermometers market. Adding to that, the globally spurring geriatric population and the increasing disposable incomes and awareness levels of people significantly add to the growth of this market.

However, factors such as the growing presence of conventional and alternative thermometer technologies, the high cost of these devices, the low awareness level and weak adoption rate in low-income countries, the concerns regarding privacy and lack of clinical evidence supporting their data hinder the growth of this market.

RECENT DEVELOPMENTS:

  • In June 2020, Blue Spark Technologies' disposable, wireless TempTraq wearable temperature monitor was deemed compatible with the Battlefield Assisted Trauma Distributed Observation Kit (BATDOK) remote patient-monitoring software. Blue Spark, a Westlake-headquartered maker of wearable and flexible electronics, worked with the United States Air Force Research Lab to develop a TempTraq-compatible plug-in that enables BATDOK users to continuously monitor patients' temperatures for up to 72 hours and transmit data in real time to a dashboard via Bluetooth.
  • In October 2020, Medtech Company Masimo announced that it is launching the Radius T Continuous Thermometer, a connected sensor system that can take a patient’s temperature over time in lieu of the manual process, for consumers.  The tool is able to send temperature readings and also warning alerts if there is a spike to a corresponding app. Users can customize the alerts and notifications functions. The app is able to present both real-time temperature values and trends data.
